Now I understand the reason for the premium.

Once further question is this tax advantage for Canadian residents only or can our US brothers join in on the fun or do they have a US conterpart for flwo-through shares ?

Thanks for that excellent response. Putting it in simple, straghtforward English made the whole concept really easy to understand. I've often wondered about flow-through shares -- and now I don't have to anymore.
