>>Please put your argument to the thousands of corporations that have selected
windows over all the superior alternatives.

It's tough to talk to Dilbert bosses and/or executives in ivory towers, where politics and not facts are the rule. I've been in such a place. Sometimes it's pure stupidity.

>>The point is that cheaper
generates more revenues so that more R & D can go into improvements in later
copies that are sold cheaper.

this is flawed logic. Cheaper now is not necessarily cheaper later. I've learned in my life when buying things (computers and everything else that cheaper is worse, more expensive is better quality and less headaches int he future. Just my experience. YMMV

>>When you work around cheaper's inadequacies, you get to know all about the
product's internal workings.

I'm amazed at your pushing the 'cheaper' concept and stretching it to fit your argument.
I can't help but mention the quality of German products (as opposed to cheaper jap or american) I've never been disappointed with a German product. They tend to have strict tolerance in products and excellent smart engineering. You're not just paying for the material, but the thinking that goes into making the product safe, long-lasting, intuitive...etc. We still have a German a reel-tape recorder that's 30-40 years old but still working like a charm. No Jap or American product that lasted us that long.
Just my thoughts. My belief now is: most of the time, cheaper is worse.
chears.
