Arik:

What's the strike date on the Msft Puts?

As I have said before, I suspect a 30% price drop, but expected it yesterday so to speak. However, due to Microsoft's zero debt and billions in cash and def. income, calls at lower levels could be the buy of the decade.

Just a thought,

Best of everything for 1998.

Ciao, ted

Arik

Thank You for your reply....
I will go througth the leads that you posted and sift through the information.
.
The **sentiment and power of the players** in this Bull Market from the
early 80's....almost "demands" that this market continue upwards.....
Any chance to buy on dips is taken....profits are also quickly taken by
these same players causing the rotation of market indexs.
.
Technical programs of these professional traders and the "stick-to-it"
boomer investors have created this long rise and the refusial to relenquish
any of the upward bias....especially since October 1987. Not to mention
the possble intervention of the Fed and Government in the overnight markets.
.
None of these groups are going to **Give Up** easily...to much money...to
much reinforcement...to much power from the success of their investing.
Also, to much at stake.
The players understand that nothing can stop them....they are very confident.
.
I feel it will take a defining event to change and alter the established
direction of this market.....Japan maybe another part of that event or
perhaps something not yet factored in....but it will require **something**
that cannot be denied. The event may come swiftly or the players may buy
the dips and drag it out....there is no reason why these **NEW Markets**
cannot enter another period of prolonged flat trading.
.
In any case.....it all needs to be carefully watched and I for one appreciate
the your involvement in keeping us all aware.
.
The Very Best to You in New Year

Chip

Hi ATG, Rumour mill: Apple at it again? First Microsoft, now IBM? -g- Message 3080090

Might not be to late for another Macworld ride.

For fun, I was playing around with the 29 chart (borrowed the Magic Elf's & moved 97 to align -g-) and was noticing the consolidation of the first half of 29 was similar to the last half of 97 and this scenario played out would match GZ's pitchfork forecast of 9400.

Claude B on the today's chart thread is drawing an interesting comparison between 89 Message 3062660

Hi ATG, BK is no myth, was reading a story tonight about North Korea and in 8/97 there was a 50 foot tidal wave that destroyed 2000 homes and 123,500 acres of crops - another contributor to the famine.

Today the Korean currency crises may have finally touched our Banking sector with downgrades, even in the face of lowering yields. Bank of America has a nasty H&S - bwdik §¨§ quote.yahoo.com (actually CCI also)

Here is a post that puts it succinctly: Message 3109814

The tech sector and the drilling sector can be rationalized off, but a banking sector bear will raise a big red flag. bwdik §¨§ Stephen Lieb has always said watch the banking sector.

The New Year is a time of new beginnings and change, from the looks of the bond rally on the first real trading day of 1998, it looks like this may be a year people will seek safety. bwdik §¨§ -g-

Bull/bear survey as a contrary indicator screaming sell and put/call ratio is not screaming sell, but whispering. We just made a double top in the McOscillator on Dec 8th and Jan 5th.

Thoughts ATG?

It's hard to believe this weekend will be my 6 month bear anniversary §¨§ Message 1594162 and coincidentally we we around 7800 then and look to be there by this weekend also - talk about going nowhere man -g- How about a 5% sell-off to celebrate.
