For one, Trump has shown no sign of being clever. Oh, it very well may be true that one of his advisers that brought up the idea. But they have shown no signs of being clever, either.

For another, we are talking about a foreign intelligence agency. Anytime they rifle through stuff on US soil, it is a national security issue regardless of what it is. Especially things like trash. I dunno if it has been hashed out in court, but there is no reason to believe an email server, public, private or government, would be any different.

Now I know your partisan blinders don't allow you to see that. I mean, all is fair if it involves dinging a Democrat, right?
