I agree completely. Anything can be offensive to somebody. There are countries in which it is offensive to mock or swear at the head of state. Not too long ago it would have been offensive to ask someone of a different race for a date. Many (most?) would not want to see a gay couple make out in public. But for every offensive act, unless you can show a real harm that outweighs the rights of the offender, you should let it go. That is what freedom and tolerance means. And this is why tolerance should be a matter of law while the culture catches up. We no longer invite someone to a duel because he said something that offended us.
