Dear goldworldnet,

One shortcoming with the recommendation count badge system is its simplicity. It may overly favor those who post a great deal of messages, to a limited group of members, on a small number of message boards.

I think a "post quality index" could serve as a good secondary metric - I believe someone else even suggested something along this line as well. Some indicator of a cross between the average number of recs per post, the number of boards on which those posts appear, and the variety of Members providing those recommendations. A Member who consistently receives highly recommended posts, across multiple boards, those recs coming from the widest group of Members would be the strongest indication of a high quality poster, and so should have the highest "quality index". Could take some figuring how we'd calculate this, however. I'm unsure this calculation could be done in real time, but might be calculated and updated daily.

Quantity of regular recommendations received is great, but the metric may not be shining a light on consistent high quality poster's who should get their props, too IMO. It would seem worthwhile to somehow also award this in Members' profiles.

Regards,

@Dima
