My guess is if you bought any stock that paid a good dividend back then and reinvested the dividends, you did pretty well unless it was Kodak and a few others that went under. I learned from watching "family" that when they finally bought a hot name, it was usually at the top but my grandfather did well just buying stocks for the dividends that he'd use to fund retirement life plus the Social Security checks he was amazed to get so much from for so little contributed.
