Robbie,

My main point was that it was my belief that the K6 could not compete with the Pentium II since it was a 686 architecture while the Pentium II was a 786. How can a 686 compete with a 786? Shouldn't AMD be working on the K7 or K8 instead of undercutting prices on an antiquated(in computer life) chip? Does AMD really believe the computer buying population will not notice? Or am I missing something here?

You made a brilliant move! AMD probably cost you a bit, but you are on the right track IMHO.
