Refering to comments about DVD players not selling up to expectations, I think that the major problem is really the Circuit City vs the rest of the world. Its kinda hard to sell DVD's when Circuit City sales personell are telling customers not to buy one. CC is a very large retailer of consumer electronics, and they would have an impact on sales if they don't support them.
Of course, the above comments refer to the USA only. But we, being rampant capitalists and consumers of "stuff", have to be a huge market, probably the largest in the world.
Not enough titles at this time isn't helping things either, but that will catch up once the format war is over.
