Jack,

<<With the amount of money the trial lawyers donate to (especially) Democrats, but Republicans too, how much chance do you think there is of our getting the English tort system established here?>>

Between the donations and with most politicians having law degrees we will probably have the English system when the next glacier hits to Everglades. Doesn't the English system use professional jurists. After some of the recent idiotic awards and verdicts I believe we need some one smarter than my peers in the jury box.

An after thought, have you ever tried to sue a lawyer?

Bill

Jack, I have thoroughly enjoyed reading your posts. Loser pays, darn right! Why we can't make that simple change to our legal system is beyond me.

Maybe it has something to do with most politicians being X-lawyers??
Or maybe it has something to do with the millions of dollars trial laywers funnel into campaign coffers??

I don't know... It seems like everyone agree's there are too many lawsuits, but noone wants to change the law to minimize them.
