Another hi-tech nose dive.

" Sybase shares slumped 30 percent Friday afternoon, hitting a new five-year low, after the database software maker warned soft sales in North America will hurt the current quarter."

This is despite the fact that they are still expected to make a profit in 1998. Gives one a bit of a feel for what could happen if the whole economy starts to 'under perform'.

George:

Here is a monthly chart of the US Treasury Bonds. It shows a potential triple top. Note that the monthly chart goes back to 1993. If the Fed does drop rates in February would this triple top Bond market break-out to the UP side???

Eh, What Say??

If you are right this is extremely bearish for the stock market.
According to the princeton economic institute homepage,
it is international flows of currency that begin bulls and
end bears. I have heard this elsewhere too. A major
factor in the crash of 87 was stock selling by foriegners,
once they realized that the G5 meeting in 1985 with
their committment to lowering the dollar, would reduce
the value of their portfolios they sold out.
If they see this happenning again, LOOK OUT!
