The many fans of Mr. Pink would be devastated if these value-investing ideas were to stop. This is one of the few threads on SI that is without hype.Plus your commentary on the short candidates is absolutely hilarious.

I could use some suits, or at least sportjackets - can you tell me where the management of actrade gets theirs? I don't want to go to Neiman Marcus.

Keep them comming Mr. Pink Daddy!!
fsfh @14.5
soi @20
shse @18.75
dose @11 5/8
I haven't sold them as yet!

The short MICCF @ 42 1/16 and cover @ 39 3/8 was different and some fun for a change of my usual portfolio. I didn't even realize that I couldn't do these types of transactions within my exixting portfolio. So I had to make changes in paperwork and now understand this a bit more for this year's market.

Thanks,

Nick

PS: Good SI threads are difficult to find, Happy New Year!!

Thanks to your SOI advice, Mr. P., I'm richer both financially and spiritually. You're a voice of reason and sanity. There are many "little guys" like me -- who inhabit the backwoods of America as well as the backwoods of SI -- who just want to say "thanks for a job well done." Keep up the good work -- both long as well as short. For years and years to come. You've got more people who admire you than you realize, George Bailey. -- Your No. 1 fan in Kentucky.

Mr. Pink:

I have been quietly following this thread for some time now. Even though I do not post very much, I find your ideas worthwhile. Hope you will continue to post.

Mr. Pink -

No, no, a thousand times, no! Don't go away!!! I've been following ever since you told the Blind Ones on the MEDA thread how to save themselves from certain debt.

Recently cashed in on your MICCF tip too, many thanks!

And by all means, harass the short candidates! I'd rather be harassed by you and keep my dough than be harassed by a margin call...

You comments will be especially anticipated in this 'value-driven' year we have coming up. A departure from recent years where the Popularity to Earnings Ratio seemed to reign over reason.

Any feedback you might have on MSFT and WLA is especially welcome (for this investor). Also, SFSK has been going straight up, and is well above both it's 50 and 200 DMA, but does it deserve a P/E of 45?

Thanks for your (past and future) views -

John H.

Hey Pink eye, you've done enough. You have these folks drooling on your shoes.

Lota stuff up 10-20% this week from the bottom, like most January's. Check again in two weeks.

Why do you think acrt is a fraud?

Mr. Pink:

Please keep up the thread - and the harassing on the short side. I for one have benefitted as it enabled me to exit twti with only a small loss. Your commentary forced me to take a closer look at it and realize it for the sham I believe it is.

Couple of questions for you. Looking for event driven stocks is certainly a way to mitigate the risks . Some of the events such as spinoffs I am aware of but are there other events that you look for. ie. the effect of the asian crisis on companies etc. Would appreciate any material - reading or tips that you could forward here.

Now to another question. I see you have actrade as a short and it certainly deserves it. Read the 10K and I have a very hard time seeing value much over 2x book. (Certainly in the single digits) But I also see that this is true for a number of other companies.

My current favorite - one I am sure you are aware of is Amazon. Nothing wrong with the company per-se as a matter of fact I order books from them. But at 10% of the sales of Barnes and Noble do they deserve 70% of the capitalization ? This business (book reselling) is not a high margin business. Please give me your thoughts on this.

thanks

Mr. Pink
I also enjoy Your thread, doing good with FA. You seen to have single-handedly shut down the CLST thread, those bulls are seeing red.
