The question... at what price do we sell when it happens? Anybody got an opinion that can help me? 35, 37.5, 40 or >45????

SF,

If there were to be an announced acquisition at, say, 40, the stock will trade at 35-36-37 before you can blink. At that juncture, you can decide whether you want to hold on as a LU (or CPQ) shareholder. I would tend to start liquidating at the announcement juncture (unless it looked like a bidding war could develop), and hold only a portion going forward into the next entity.

If the stock jumps up to 35 on no news (just earnings), then it should still retain a greater degree of upward potential (perhaps including a buy-out figure higher than 40). I've no idea how to play the game if this happens. Someone else will, no doubt.

Check out the action on CHPS last summer for an indication of a possible scenario on a buyout announcement. Those who bailed on that day did real well.

ASND has run hard in the past and then backed off fast with no real "news". If you are in for a trade, you can decide what your target is and sell into the rally.

Once again, my chart says the upside target is 44-47.
