Reagan, thanks for re-posting! The old memory ain't what she used to be--that got 1/2 my questions answered. (Also forgot that I could just go to the Mighty Q's web page and jump in--sometimes this tech stuff is so close to the forest . . . .).
I don't believe that I will need to worry about taking the phone to Los Angeles or other places with spotty coverage wherever they may be. Have you taken your dual-mode to La La Land? What happens when it kicks over to analog--do you have to have your Visa at the ready?
Think I'll press my luck and ask one more question. Do you or anyone know the origin of wireless carriers charging for received calls. How did they pull this off? What was the original rationale? Thanks again. Mike Doyle
