Walt,

I used to live in Ottawa and there were many cold winters I can recall. One day we decided to go skiing across the river into the Gatineau's of Quebec. It was -44 and with the windchill factor-56,I think my one run down the bunny hill cost me 50.00 but the memories. How about pressure cracks on the lakes up there?I'm a big ice fisherman and on very cold windy day's I've seen the hut move 3 feet higher with each bone chilling crack and 3 mile pressure cracks 12 feet high on Lake Simcoe.Snap lake is most likely too small and shallow for these exciting events to occur. It would be real neat if the bottom froze so hard that the pipes would come shooting up through the ice with diamonds filling the surface.Just dreaming right now.
Good night.
