I've been posting my short-term outlooks for the market on this thread every week or two. Currently I am trading this Jan effect rally on the long side and plan to short into strength during the next week or so. The market is hard to predict several months out, so I am either trading the flux (1-day to 2/3 week trades) or investing for the long-term (at least 2yr timeframe).

I posted I would trade opposite the majority sentiment at SI in the near-term. So far, so good. btw, recently went long CSCO and AMAT when people were advising caution and wanted to short the hell out of them. Wish me luck.

What are your views of the disk drive sector? TT has been posting all and sundry for their views, and in the meantime IBM has announced their GMR technology as expected. IBM has the R&D lead and the pricing/distribution channels to put pressure on the likes of SEG and WDC. I see IBM licensing the technology to dd companies after locking in the high margin profits initially ...
