Satellite is a two way sword.

We just looked into it - thinking I could give up the land line and get Hughes satellits for cable and save some money.

The installers came out for Hughes.

Before I had them do anything I wanted them to confirm my real time scottrade quotes would use up my allownace.

They had me call the local land line and witha week to go I had used 250 gigabytes on dsl.

Huges satellite was faster but allowed for 50 gigabytes and then they would slow it down to dial up speed.

I stayed with the dsl - which slows down when the local college 2 miles away puts on peal demand.

We are out in the boonies, so I'm tickled just to be able to get dsl as I'm on the end of the local carrier.

When satellite is slow you can use all you want but when satellite is fast they monitor usage.

Competition will give us both eventually.

In the mean time they continue to eliminate competition which extends revenue with out reinvestment.

WE NEED MORE COMPETITION IN THE USA!!!
