Democrats might be a bit more effective on the voter access issue if they held majorities in more state governments. Another area where the ball was dropped over the last two decades.

I think the (D)'s got way too involved in things that most Americans just aren't concerned about, and took their eye off the thing Americans are VERY concerned about, their own personal economies.

How many Americans really care about what bathroom a self-gendered person uses? When I say self-gendered, I mean the gender they identify as. The answer: very few Americans. Most Americans find the whole issue somewhat icky.

The same goes for transgender rights. Maybe someday, but not during the Trump era.

Gay marriage? Some gays care, many could give a flip, including my gay brother and his 30 year partner.

Abortion rights? Many women care, some are against it and voted for Trump.

Gun restrictions? Put them on the shelf for some alternate future.

Black lives matter, but mainly for black people.

The (D)'s got too cuddly with the elites, and got Trumped. They need to get back with the FDR voters, the workin' stiffs. That's who Trump played to, and won. Sure, some racism, misogyny and xenophobia was involved, but they didn't elect him. Hurtin' workin' stiffs did.
