... the move up was quick and so was the move down

You are still confusing... What do you mean by
"quick" and "up and down"? Quick, up and down by
whose measurement and time frame?
Besides the last move was up and not down, as you indicate.

<<
Here is a hint---if you were quick enough to buy at 7,
>>

"Being quick" was not enough, it was impossible...
No one could have bought NOVL for 7 in the last down move.
The low Bid of 7 came on 12/30/97 at 7 and lasted for about
45 minutes and it took with it the last of the sellers. Now you
tell me how anyone could have bought 100 shares at 7, let alone
10,000 shares?

<<
...say 10,000 shares then its a no brainer as to
what to have done at 3:59PM Friday.

Oh, you are a day trader! If you are a day trader and it that easy,
why don't you honor us and help us by posting your buy/sells real time, so we may make a few dollars too. BTW, as a short time trader
I am more in stocks with large daily-ranges, such as QCOM and MSFT
and not NOVL.

Finally, NOVL crossed the resistance line, in its weekly chart at
8 0r 8 1/16, with good volume. Holding above this line, which is
also part of a weekly-triangle, is needed to continue the up move.
