Out here in Cali the Cali-exit movement is gaining traction. Considering the amount we get back of our federal dollars- less than what we send- and considering many red states are "takers"- I say we divorce. Cali would be an awesome country absent the rest of the United States:

When you live in an abusive stupid country, but your own state is great, a divorce is warranted. Hopefully the movement takes off. I've never wanted Cali to be attached to Dumfuckistan, but now there's an actual impulse to separate. Might be one of the few good things Trump will accomplish...

I agree with your view on Sanders.

I'm very supportive of some of his ideas--single payer health care, redressing income inequalities, and so on. But I thought (a) he would not be able to govern given what we know about his from his senate/house experience, (b) to restate, he would have been easier to campaign against, much easier, than Clinton.

My own candidate for missed opportunity is Biden.
