The tea party element and Trump get along very well. The other thing is he contributed funds to help get some Republican members elected. As Paul Ryan said today some were Elected in their states only because they rode on Trump's coat tails. He would promote them at his massive rallies and ask the voters to re-elect them. He has a favor or two to call in if he needs to.

Of course Reagan was able to work with Democrats like Tip O'Neil. Thanks for yet again displaying your poor knowledge of history, and looking like and being a fool. Obummer was probably the poorest President in at least the last six in failing to work effectively across the aisle... and of course one of the best at playing the blame game, and running and hiding from truths. The Republicans early in Reagan's first term were nowhere near a homogeneous group. Reagan's debt growth was smaller than Obummers Reagan's employment growth was way larger than Obummers. Reagan geopolitics created no wars with the USSR, and the USSR even disappeared about 2 years after he left office. All war, all the time under Obummer. Reagan had many quarters with GDP growth above 3%, Obummer has had none. Obummer's legacy is toast, especially given how he failed at inserting $hillary.
