Greetings Carol and Gregor, Please excuse me for interrupting your discussion regarding Moses, but please consider this; Moses by being disobedient to God was not allowed to enter the promised land, although God in His graciousness allowed him to see it from afar. Moses represents the " LAW " and the " Law " can never bring a person into the promised land. The Lord Jesus Christ , by faith in Him, is the only way a believer can enter this promised land or " rest " which the scriptures talk about. This rest or promised land is " Life in the Holy Spirit " which is every born again believers inheritance. Please do not confuse the promised land as salvation or of belonging to God, for this indeed is not the case. Moses sin might seem insignificant in our eyes in keeping him from entering the promised land, however I believe the Holy Spirit is trying to teach us that by all our own works, no matter how good they may seem to appear, if their origin is from ourselves ( Adam nature ) God will reject it. May God continue to grant us grace as we seek to mature into the image of His Son. Robert
