Judy:

A late catch to the Roth. In a technical corrections this fall Congress added the 10% excise tax penalty if you roll over prior to turning 59.5 years.

Makes the $60k in your example become $54k. A lot of financial advisors haven't picked up on this yet.

Tim

Good morning, Judy!

We got snow here! Have been pushing those cars stuck in front
of my house this morning :)

Thanks for thenote on ROTH IRA.

I like your stratege for shorting the likes of AOL/YHOO/DELL.
Is it better selling Feb than Jan calls?

TA and Cumulative MF read:
I see positive MF in a lot of stocks under deep water. Yearend
short covering or new longs?

AMAT...modest accumulation under 30 but I see strong resistance at
50/200ema (33ish).

AMGN...nice basing here. MF is neutral.

AOL...blocks not selling yet. Some technical divergence...it
shouldn't behave like a rock in the next market selloff.

BAY...good accumulation.

BGEN...slighly positive MF. Possible technical breakout.

COMS...seen accumulation at 32-34.

CPQ...you were on target. Blocks came after 200ema was broken.

CSCO...technically lokking good. MF bad.

CYMI/CS/LSI...dogs being bought.

MU/NKE...good accumulation despite the poor fundamentals.

GTW/SUNW/TLAB have more to go.

SEG/WDC may turn here. Good accumulation.

Drugs still look good.

I don't see drillers to fall further.

Have a good weekend.

judy, does the AGI income have to be less then 100k for next 4 years or just in 98? i can manage less then 100k for one yr maybe but not all 4 yrs.

i know i can exclude the income from ira itself.

the other thing to watch out for is that if ira builds up to more then 600k then it's a problem for those who inherit .
