Congressman Ed Royce led the Republican majority in Congress in suspending House Rules on Tuesday November 15 to pass HR-5732 - the "Caesar Syria Civilian Protection Act of 2016". Thenext day the bill was read twice in the Senate and referred to the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations.

Donald Trump's pick for Attorney General, Senator Jeff Sessions, strongly supports the Syrian No-Fly bill as does Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. Since Republicans will lose a couple of Senate seats they may need to pass the bill just before Inauguration Day so the bill will be ready for President Donald Trump's signature as soon as he takes office.

During his campaign Trump said he favored sneak attacks, saying Obama's public discussion of foreign policy merely tipped-off Russia what our position on Syria is.

Trump has promised Russia won't know what action he'll take until after he's taken it.

I can now easily see why global war-mongers loudly supported Donald Trump for President.

We would never have seen a nuclear sneak attack on Russia under Clinton administration, but Donald Trump believes in surprise which opens a startling potential future.

You're correct in noting this action is taking the full cooperation of the Republican Party, rather than a single man, just like the way Trump's income tax plan will increase taxes on working Americans while providing the top one-percent with a 13.5% tax cut.

I know you've always been a big fan of Putin's anti-Semitic policies, so implementing them globally may depend almost entirely on Donald Trump. But as you say, it will take a group effort by all Republicans and other Trump supporters.

<No need to worry MQ, the house just passed a no fly zone
for Syria.
>

OMG, I had better check what you wrote. If true, that's a declaration of war on Syria and Russians who have legal right to fly over Syria at Syria's request. That's not very UN-like.

My fears are probably right that Mr Nobel Peace Prize Obama as commander in chief and his horrific harpies will try to show Putin who is boss before Obama has to give up the reign of power and hand the reins to Big Don who does NOT want to die in a nuclear conflagration.

What happened to CO2 being the biggest problem of our time? I suppose a Third World War to celebrate the end of WWI 100 years ago is timely. It would cut the human population by perhaps 90% as everything stops working and worldwide famine and civil war result. That would certainly reduce CO2 output dramatically.

I explained in 2015 that the Little Friend of All the World canary in the coal mine had died. So far, we are tracking true for Armageddon in 2017 if not before. Armageddon is just down the road from Aleppo, Mosul and Syria in general. Well within range of on-site weaponry.

What a tragically ironic description: << The Caesar Syria Civilian Protection Act of 2016 includes ]Assessment of potential effectiveness of and requirements for the establishment of safe zones or a no-fly zone in Syria.

Caesar was a Roman emperor given to extensive military conquest. Protecting civilians is exactly what such a no-fly zone would NOT do as civilians will be the primary recipients of 20 megaton blasts.

Dr Strangelove rides again.

Where did you get that information? I do not see it when asking Google to tell me about it?

Huffington Post has a sensible article about the situation: huffingtonpost.com
