Hi Tom, So far as I know data is provided by both Quotes Plus and TC2000. Both have conversion utilities for MS data. Not sure about WOW but you can create both regular data and Dop file date for other programs. I don't know if TC2k will read QP Data or vice versa.

I removed TC2000 from my computer when I changed data providers to Quotes Plus. Quotes Plus software is the most powerful for scans, (very important,) and the data in very clean, mistakes are corrected next day. Data is currently not ready before 8pm EST. That will change with their upgrade to Sat dish and faster service to them and finally us. The charting ability of Quotes Plus is very simalar to TC2k with minimal indicators.

Again the Scan ability and programing ability of Quotes Plus is the real edge and for my money the only choice out there. No I don't work for them, just what to see you get the opportuninty to evaluate the best data software on the market today.

All of the scans TC2k can do are available for Quotes Plus and many more that TC2k cannot do.

You didn't say if you had MSWIN or WOW. If you do then either one of these will provide you with data. If not they will get you started in the right direction for when you do get more powerful software. They both have 30day free trials.

I hope I havn't been to redundant.

May the Trend be with You,

Arctic Mike

Hi, Tom--

That post seems such a long time ago, that I had almost forgotten that I posted it. Since then, Sam has had a couple of versions of WOW and I have updated through two recent editions of MS. I still have tc2k, but haven't used it for months. I use q+ exclusively as my data source now, run all my initial scans in it, and transfer the filtered results to ms. My daily updates from q+ automatically update my lists of files residing in ms. Datacon does not work to transfer data from q+ to tc2k.

I still believe that all beginners can benefit tremendously from starting out with tc2k. It has a number of features that are still not available in q+, that are excellent for the beginner. However, when you are ready to move on to a db bigger than 100-200 stocks, q+ is the way to go, and version 2 has made a great product even better.

BTW,when you are looking at the q+ section of the "best-of-the-best at Andy's web site, you will find several posts on the comparison of tc2k vs q+.

Good trading,
