More Nokia markets...................nokia.com Nokia launches extensive digital satellite range for the nordic markets (October 14, 1997) -- Nokia Multimedia Network Terminals is launching a new range of digital satellite receivers for the Nordic markets at this year's Lyd og Bilde, Oslo, 14-19 October 1997. Nokia's strength in production and manufacture of DVB (Digital Video Broadcasting) based multimedia terminals has already been demonstrated in other European markets including Germany, Italy and Spain, for both cable and satellite transmission. Nokia Multimedia Network Terminals is now marketing four digital receivers designed for the Nordic market - the Nokia Mediamaster 9200S Free to Air is capable of receiving all unencrypted SCPC and MCPC programmes; - the Nokia Mediamaster 9600 S Common Interface is a Free to Air model that is upgradeable for encrypted broadcast services from a number of service providers, such as Canal Digital, at a later date if required; - the Nokia Mediamaster 9602 designed for Canal Digital's bouquet of programmes, including a V22bis modem providing a return channel for the broadcasters interactive services; - and the top of the range Nokia Mediamaster 9610 with high speed modem (V32bis) and SCSI interface for Canal Digital's full and comprehensive range of services. Nokia Multimedia Network Terminals has won more 'Best in Test' and awards for satellite products than any other brand in Europe. The latest, most celebrated award comes from the European Imaging & Sound Association (EISA), for the Nokia Mediamaster winning the European Satellite Receiver of the Year '97-'98.
