Are you saying they are dumb? Isn't that racism? You are looking down at "others" because they are different.

Nah, Neandertals aren't a race. They're a species, so that would be speciesism. <g>

As to "conceptualize" - well, that's the point of instinct.

Not hardly, given that conceptualizing is high-order thinking while instinct isn't thinking at all. You have to evolve a long, long way from Neanthetal before you do any serious thinking.

You are looking down at "others" because they are different.

I assure you that, if I run into one, I will be very polite and respectful, after I picked my jaw up off the floor, that is. Of course the brute wouldn't be able to process and interpret my politeness and respect as such and would probably club me.

It is visceral, you don't think it it is just innate.

I think that wariness of strangers is innate, more so to some than others. Some people naturally respond with curiosity and openness. Some people are inherently trusting. Some are shy. And some are naturally aggressive. They immediately stomp on anything unfamiliar.

Racism is a learned attitude. One that can be unlearned through a simple cognitive therapy process. You just say "this is stupid" three times, click your heels, and it's on its way to gone.
