Josh,
I use to build computers, it was cheaper and you would end up with a much better machine.

But as I've gotten older, the last several computers I have bought were these off lease business boxes off ebay. Last one was a HP5850 AMD 9600 quad core years ago that came with a Vista Business COA. I added a new drive, loaded Vista and still use the computer today. Probably cost me less than a 100 bucks.

My computer demands are light, I have no need of a bleeding edge gaming machine. Mostly Internet, email, and some light office duty.

I see similar bargains today where they come now with hard drives with Win10 loaded and cost half than my last purchase.

As an example, I trust this seller, used him in the past several times for boxes for family and friends.
ebay.com

I would stay away from sellers that sell a single computer, there are several of these sellers that have acquired large quantities of these off lease business machines. Mine came clean as new except for the scratches. They're not filthy trash computers companies have thrown in the dumpster. Yes, you could get one that quits tomorrow, but the sellers will exchange the box easily. My particular seller I use has a 30day policy. I'm in the electronics field, if the box has ran two years at a company, you should get several more years of enjoyment out of it.

Granted some boxes are hardware proprietary, I remember DELL use to be. I don't know about the current boxes, a google search would tell you if the power supply is generic or not. That's the only piece I'd want to replace if needed.

$50 for a Win10 box ready to go? Just one way of many ways to skin a cat.....
