Arthur, - In your humble opinion would good be considered "up to expectations" as the street would say? My feeling is that AMES, and some other selected discounter's sales were better than that of the "average retail establishment" this holiday season. Hope to continue to see those net margins increase towards the 3% level. <Off Topic market comment> Stock market (Dow) is approaching a meaningful turning point, and January effect, options expiry in two weeks, 4th Q '97 "guidance info", combined with continuing Asian concerns, will put the Dow to the test. This bull market is beginning to get tired, and the coming short-term test of it's former highs may require a herculian effort. It will be fun to see. Gary
