Very interesting... the inflation hawk is now worrying about deflation?

Unless there really has been a paradigm shift (now there's a cliche for you) bear markets are not associated with falling interest rates.

Why not the K6 - good question - the K6 and the cyrix test as fast as the PII 233. It's simply that I think a PII board will permit future upgrades, while a K6 (or any standard Pentium board) may prove to be a dead end.

<Explores an area seldom seen in the popular press.>
Hi Leo,
The mainstream press writes what the mainstream wants to read...if they read at all. If it doesn't titillate, shoot basketballs or make you easy money who needs it? I have to admit reading about algorithms isn't at the top of my weekend "to do" list either though*.

Did you know that Corel has "scripts" for the image editing programs? I haven't tried this myself but it must take the drudgery out of a lot of work people have to do over and over:

* This was: Kinky Friedman's ROAD KILL
A few quotes -
1. From Winston Churchill; "When you're going through hell, keep going."
2. From Kinky; "I'd had a number of bad experiences with drugs, one of them lasted for several decades."
3. From Kinky; "Soon I was so high I needed a stepladder to scratch my a*s."

Regards,
Kurt P.

BTW, I just scanned without reading thoroly Greenspans's deflation comments (they're printing now)- but they appear to be seminal (another cliche) in his thinking.

The encouraging thing is that he is aware of the pitfalls. The last time the world faced deflation (in 29-30), the fed TIGHTENED.

I'm long NOB and HIB in my longterm portfolio. Very hard to say how this will play out short and long term for bank stocks.
