It was anything BUT an easy read.

LOL. It's been 50 years. I don't recall that, only that Atlas Shrugged was at least a third longer than it needed to be. I remember clearly the scenario in which I read it. I was so engrossed in the book that I read the whole thing in one sitting, which cost me a night's sleep. I literally couldn't put it down. My husband had invited an unwitting insurance agent to speak to us and I stayed in the bedroom reading. I didn't even go out to meet the man. And my husband didn't buy whatever it was the guy was selling. He had invited the guy just to argue that insurance was a bad investment.

My sentence wasn't the best. "All the easier for young people to read to help them evaluate the world around them and how they fit into it."

I did not intend to say that it was easy to read but that reading it, with its stark contrasts, it's black and white everything, its repetition, made it easy to see and evaluate the distinctions she was making.
