I'd offer more criticism, I agree with yours. However, there is so much over the top sensationalized criticism on this thread that it's hard to get something reasonable in without just toning down the stuff that's already posted. Then it looks like you're not criticizing trump as much as you are criticizing the poster. So I tend not to do either. Well, I critique other posts in my fashion but not the Anti-Trump posts that much. inode does a pretty good job though, so I rec some of his posts.

The WaPo is poisonous and avoid at all cost. They are just one of many "news" organization and many blogs that have become known for endlessly trumpeting the case for one candidate or party. I pick and choose what I read and watch. The partisanship is constructed in this manner so that reader or TV watcher could watch or read a good fight between two opponents, it attracts more attention, drives headlines and makes money. They could easily have substantive discussion of issues, but this would possibly drive readers/viewers away. This framework encourages pandering and has polarized the country and our opposing viewpoints have become less less tolerable. We are simply a by product of the present paradigm. This is why Trumps tweets. Its just a antidote to what he reads every day. If it was Obama tweeting the left would certainly see its merits.

Your question was..When might someone criticize something about Trump without drawing the reaction that the person criticizing is not a partisan stooge? Is there any subject area that is open for consideration, any timing that might be acceptable, or tone, perhaps?

My question to you, why did you exclude Obama in your question. Or was it just Trump your target of discussion?
