SI AccuMed (ACMI) thread activity just vaulted past SI Amazon (AMZN) thread activity on the Hot Subject register.

FYI Morningstar rates AccuMed and Amazon as both projecting 5 year EPS growth of 50% annualized.

Isn't that coincidental? Good-night Chet.

It sounds really good. I had a question though on the 510(k) process. How come this product qualifies for this process rather than requiring the more lengthy regular process such as is being followed by the NeoPath AutoPap? I would have hoped that the IR person might have addressed this question.

My girlfriend can't help us too much on things relating to cytology as this is not her area. She is a hematologist but also being a lab director knows and is qualified in chemistry and bacti. Cytology is usually handled by specialized labs. She has ideas about it based on what makes sense from an overall laboratory perspective but not detailed experience.

She also has some ideas on how equipment is sold to labs. When I tell her about some of these products and companies (not AccuMed) she starts to laugh and can't stop. She knows that the equipment will go into the lab and just sit because no one will be able to keep it working. Particularly interesting are tie in deals like where the equipment is being sold by the company that furnishes the consumables. What happens if the company furnishing the consumables provides an inferior product? How long will that equipment stay on lease? There are a lot of details to worry about for a company to be successful including training, consumables and maintenance.

As far as Cisco's list goes, perhaps we should add to this list the March 1998 presentation by Dr. Pisharodi on the DMC study. I imagine that this will have an impact. We really need this list on a web site so that we can look at it and update it. Being buried in this thread makes it difficult to get to.
