Cosmo:

Late last week I posted a note referring to our friend Manny Asensio and his latest shot at AVNT. He goes into detail about the facts contained in your post. They're involved in another company that I believe Bill Wexler or Bob Trocchi addressed in one of their posts.

To all : They are ushering in the new year in Hong Kong (-200 points) and Tokyo (-300 points).

I'm interested in AVNT. I checked the put prices and they are outrageous and pretty short term. So I guess my next best option is shorting. So here is a dumb question from one who has never shorted. What financial requirements does one have to meet to short a stock? In other words, what equity requirements do you have to have in a brokerage account before most brokers will allow you to short? (I called my broker, but too late, they are closed).
