People also tend to forget just how bad the administration of George W. Bush really was, and not just because it led America to war on false pretenses. There was also an upsurge in cronyism, with many key posts going to people with dubious qualifications but close political and/or business ties to top officials. Indeed, America botched the occupation of Iraq in part thanks to profiteering by politically connected businesses.

The only question now is whether the rot has gone so deep that nothing can stop America’s transformation into Trumpistan. One thing is for sure: It’s destructive as well as foolish to ignore the uncomfortable risk, and simply assume that it will all be O.K. It won’t.

you may have heard that the Trump people are freaking out that the performers for the Inauguration will be limited to Kid Rock and Ted Nugent.
So....
You know what would be really smart? If there was a televised "freedom concert" with huge celebrities like: Beyoncé and Jay Z, Madonna, Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake, Gaga, Bruce Springsteen, etc. that aired at the same time as the inauguration. Imagine how mad "Tiny Fingers" would be. He would totally lose all the ratings.
And what if all the proceeds of the concert went to: the ACLU, Planned Parenthood, Lambda Legal, NAACP, CAIR, IRAP, SPLC, Environmental Defense Fund, Human Rights Campaign Fund, GLAD.
I would add that Alec Baldwin should MC the event playing Trump as he does on SNL.

You were one of the most vocal proponents of "the lesser of two evils" philosophy of voting for Hillary Clinton. Clearly, there were not enough people in PA, WI or MI who embraced that view. "Lesser of two evils" is still an evil.

I am a proponent of common sense when it comes to assessing the state of the economy. And what I see is a Trump cabinet composed mostly of billionaires. I assume then that policies will be enacted to primarily benefit the billionaire class in the form of massive tax cuts, looser regulations, higher profit margins, etc.

It does not take much to satisfy the poor or lower middle income in this country. All that's needed is to save them a few dollars per week on their favorite cereal/favorite foods. A modest increase in the minimum wage will suffice for them. Give them G-d and more venues to pray and they will be happy.

So, what went wrong, Mr. "lesser of two evils"?

>>>That is pure nonsense. People should be criticizing Trump. How you can look at his behavior over the last 18 months and think that people are being unreasonable to bash Trump is mystifying.<<<

I believe the post was constructive. Your compulsion to dismiss the gist of posts, so you can repeatedly rant this 'Trump is Hitler/Putin and that he will destroy everything' meme was a contribution to the general body of thought when you first posted it, but as a response to every attempt to initiate constructive conversation, it has become tiresome and counter-productive. Not to mention the false attributions you associate to other posters in the process exposes you as lacking, as a promoter of propaganda and as a dishonorable person .

I have criticized Trump repeatedly for his harshness and immoral behavior wrt the way he treats people he sees as a threat. It does nothing constructive to post that again and especially not multiple times a day to people who've discussed it at length. Well it might help me to get accepted as a member of some group think set, but I'm not interested in that. I look forward to critiquing his administration if it can be shown to be corrupt.

Interesting that you see bashing and critiqueing as synonymous.

>>>How bad does a politician have to be before you feel it is okay to bash them.<<<

Depends on what you mean by OK. It is never constructive, at best it provides stress relief for someone who is extremely biased and frustrated in not getting their way, like the relief racists get when telling an off color joke in the midst of like minded folk. That being the case I think it does nothing more than to provide comfort to bigotry and extremism. I don't think that is ever ok.
