Jeff, I think if we just added Year in front of the 2000 in heading
that would help. So people can search on Year 2000 and come
up with something. Anybody know the easiest way to do this? I am happy
to deal with it tomorrow.

Jeff,

I vote we implement both your ideas.

I started reading SI in November 1996, specifically looking for Y2K stocks. It was a while before I found this thread because I searched for "Year 2000" and "Y2K", neither of which led me to the most important Y2K thread!

The weekly thread summaries would help me branch out from my small group of favorites. I tend to spend every spare minute trying to catch up with the basics and planning my next trades, fully intending to learn about other Y2K companies as soon as possible. The "spare" time never comes.

Make it so!

Jeff - I agree that helping more investors find this thread would be a benefit. The computer programmer nature in me would like to see the creators of this wondeful forum change their software so that keywords could be attached to a subject. That way the subject heading would not have to be changed at all. This helps since people would not have to make any changes in their bookmarks and current sort orders, etc. would be preserved. Keywords are more open ended as well. I'm sure that most of us would not like to see any uneccessarily long worded subject, but a subject could easily have say 20 keywords attached.

For example this subject could have:

2000
date change
Year 2000
Y2K
Millemium problem
date rollover
date problem
century problem
century rollover

Just my thoughts.

Jeff/all: Hey, we could all just reply to Jeff's message, which should increase the click rate for this thread ... then we'd be on the Hot Subjects list. Instant recognition !!!

Or, we (as in Jeff or Kat Riley) could ask the Webmistress to add the Y2K tag. "A stock sector worth a look" is a bit long.

I thought about replying to Jeff's message with a "NO", just to create some more discussion, thus more posts, thus more clicks.

But, in keeping with my New Year's Resolution, I decided not to.

Jeff: Just a thought ....

I like the "2000" at the beginning of the title, because it sorts to the top of my 73 kajillion threads that I follow.

It wouldn't break my heart if that changed.

(Note: if this were a mainframe, 2000 would sort to the bottom!)

Sounds good to me, Jeff. I have also noticed that this thread does not come up in a search. Judging from what occasionally appears on the TPRO thread, I'm not even sure some of those folks know about this one. Changing the name may help.

I'll volunteer to post a weekly summary on ACLY if there's sentiment for that, if you'll agree to post on FBN(gg).
