Hi, 4-Bob, I have used cable modem for 6 months now. It's very fast to download large files. With cable modem, you don't have the troubles to dial up to ISP every time you want to get a internet connection as use a phone line. I use it for real-time stock quotes, and is pretty satisfied. As for price, it cost me about $50/month(Cnd fund), including unlimited connection and modem rent fee, roughly the same cost for a second phone line plus an ISP account here. SteveZ
