I am just wondering why Bristol Meyers let this "great opportunity"
go. Do they know something we don't. Seems very strange!

>>said David H. Katz, M.D., president and CEO of LIDAK. ''In particular, I want to express my profound appreciation to the LIDAK team which assembled this application in apparently record time. This NDA is the culmination of an intensive research and clinical development program of many years' duration>>

Luis-
Read this closely. Starts with "apparent" record time. Ends with "many years duration." The NDA was filed 4 months after the trial results were in and reported. I'm not sure what "apparent record" he's referencing. Apparently this is just another vague statement thats tough to make sense of.

My brief takes on the recent events:
The BMY drop. Not surprising at all. Amongst other reasons, I would speculate its largely because the market potential here is below BMY thresholds. You can foolishly speculate this is a $1B drug or even $500M, $100M for that matter but that would be fools play. LDAK needs a partner to market this-don't look for another major pharma to step forth-if anyone does have interest, look for it to be a second tier player-WPI, FRX, Swarz, maybe even LGND/AGPH or other biotech AIDS players that are developing their own marketing.

The filing barely beat the year end. My take is the FDA will formally accept the filing as complete in 2 months-or late Feb. (reference GELX in todays news for timing) The formal announcement on its verdict should come in the first quarter of 1999.
