Some would probably say it is silly, but the point is, how much would people be willing to pay for some of the stuff we get. If they actually realized th re was a cost to them, they would want to get rid of a lot of government services we now take for granted because they don't feel they get personal value from paying for others' healthcare services. A lot of programs would fold if people actually paid what they cost.
