>> Without it, people are going to die.

I imagine more are dying due to lack of care now than before. You're not under the illusion that suddenly, people who couldn't get health care are able to get it now, right? That simply isn't the way it worked out. More people today are withholding health care because they can't afford it than before.

What I see -- being in and out of provider's back offices, is a huge increase in the quantity of non-productive paperwork. Time-wasting nonsense that detracts from the overall quality of care.

Although self-rationing of care dropped after Obamacare, we still have nearly 70 million people who are doing so. And in some cases, they are putting off more expensive procedures that once were affordable and are not now. That is, some people are paying more for insurance today but the coverage sucks and as a result they cannot pay their copay/coinsurance/deductible.

You must understand that your personal experience means absolutely nothing. It is simply an anecdote and some were helped by it and others were hurt.

Mostly, the country is hurt by it because we cannot afford it as a country.

A good friend was covered by the Affordable Care Act for two years until he became eligible for Medicare.
It cut his medical insurance premiums in half and he received very close to the same coverage he had received previously. I realize premiums and coverage will vary, especially from state to state but he was very pleased with it, having been on individual coverage for years previously- and the ACA premiums went up less than did his previous coverage as well.
