I do not believe the foreign competition is uniquely of concern. In fact I believe this is an advantage, given the recent history of US companies taking market share in semiconductor equipment. The foreign semiconductor equipment companies (especially Japan) seem to lack the speed and innovativeness of the US companies. Today's rally appears to be due to a serious lack of sellers. (I believe many sellers are already soldout of KLIC).
