Good comments.

<<<<I would be surprised if Trump voters by and large are assuming that the very same jobs that left will be coming back>>>>

The problem here for Trump as I see it is that these people voted with their hearts - not their minds. They know the jobs are gone forever to a large extent, but they just are hurting and in desperation voted for Trump. The thing is though when Trump doesn't produce their old job again and then they don't have health insurance either as Obamacare goes away - they just sit home and will not vote. ............I don't see how Trump changes that? ADDITIONALLY, if democrats can get their act together and get out of that elite bubble Trump will have two years and that's it.

An expanding economy will open up new prospects as long as more people aren't being laid off as their jobs go overseas.

Uh, the Congressional Republicans are proposing and Trump seems to be going along with, trimming 20% of government employees. What do you think the economy is going to do with 300k suddenly unemployed? What does that do to the unemployment rate? Realize that government workers tend to have more skills and education that many workers. Who do you think they will be competing with for jobs?
