The most noteworthy item on the news account is the fact that the prices for HWP models are hundreds less than CPQ's of similar configuration. HWP is sticking to INTEL only and still beating the pants off CPQ on price. Sure CPQ will come back with some price cuts of their own, but the lower models will surely have AMD or CYRIX inside. These are just some facts that others on this thread will have you ignore. Does this mean that CPQ will limp away into corporate nothingness? No way! However, this is just a reminder that CPQ will not have its way at every turn in the marketplace, and that past growth rates are unlikely to continue without major acquisitions.
