In this fraud no one's money or other property is missing. There is no reason anyone would report it because there is not any apparent means of anyone knowing about it.

I just think there are workarounds for it. For example, obfuscated IDs.

I understand there is great opposition to a national id card. But that is is sort of ridiculous when we already have tons of them -- SSNs, DL #s, even phone numbers and addresses are forms of ID. And, purportedly, voter registrations.

I've never met anyone who thinks a National ID makes sense but they all love all these other IDs.
