I agree. Given the low participation rate of the US compared to other 1st world democracies, we should be working to make it easier for people to vote, not harder. I said earlier that I had no problem with DLs being used, but your experience has given me reason to doubt that. I haven't had to get one in every state, and may not be aware of the problems involved.

Since government IDs are needed for many other things besides voting, I would suggest that such difficulties call more for making IDs easier to get rather than ruling out the idea of requiring them for a vote.

I believe (partially from a previous post of yours) that in NC they are harder to get than normal. If so NC would have plenty of other states to follow as an example.
