I'm not really a hardware guy so I don't know exactly what it meant. I'm not sure if my interpretation was right, but I took it to mean that just the passage of time is correlated with failure greater than the usage of a particular bit.

If that is the case, does that mean the amount of time the drive is powered up, or would a drive on the shelf just deteriorate, or what?

Probably my own ignorance, but for me it raised a couple of big questions, there. At any rate I'm going to swap one of the mirrored arrays on a routine basis.

Josh, I am on my laptop. On my desktop, the one being cloned, the screen is black except for a blinking yellow short line in the far upper left corner. Is this ok?
