Haim you are correct. I should have been clearer that I am only speaking for the company that I work at. And thank you for sharing your experiences with H1B.

Here is a correction/elaboration:

At the fortune 500 company that I work at, it is more expensive and complicated to hire highly talented H1Bs that have hard to find skill sets than it is to hire equivalent US citizens. I don't know the exact cost difference, but I do know that we have a legal team that specializes just in dealing with our H1Bs employees and I have interacted with them and participated in a small part of the paper work as part of the hiring process. Also, I have access to a limited amount of salary info, but enough that I can safely say that the pay is equivalent for experienced software engineers with skill sets that are in high demand at my company no matter if they are H1B or not.

Haim, sometimes generalisations are true so you fell into the trap of making a wild generalisation: <<Horgad to make generalizations is always wrong, and you fell into this trap. >> Generalisations are very useful as they generally explain a large part of something. Stereotypes are also very handy to make general descriptions.
