Joe,

Ya still waiting for that NOVL $6.50 price point, eh? I guess you've become much more seasoned and patient with NOVL as you have experienced the past mistakes by the company. I'm curious though, why are you specifically interested in $6.50, versus the 7 1/8th that was available last week (is this the ultimate safe point)? It just seems like a lot to wait for if you really want to buy the companies shares. My sense is that you just don't feel they are worth any respect above $7. At least not yet.

Good luck and Cheers on your other picks such as CPQ, DELL, and others into this New Year.

Hi Joe,

Actually, I think $6.50 is too much to pay for a buy and hold play. Be interesting to see what it looks like after earnings in Feburary. For trading it is pretty faithful about filling gaps, and the charts are mostly pointed in the right direction for that kind of move over the next few weeks. The opinions of those morons on CNBC tends to fade after a few days. I wonder what a SEC investigation would turn up about their buying and selling patterns and the timing of their rumors.

I am starting to speculate that the fear of Y2K might do more for the MOAB release going into Summer than anything that Novells inept marketing has ever done. Novell might not be dead yet even though it smells that way. I do think the smell will get worse before it gets better and am waiting on the sidelines for my next short play.

My APM is up 27% in the last two days which makes me feel better about buying it all the way down last month. Looks like the January effect is treating your holdings well also. Good luck.

Regards,

Don

"Nothing's changed yet. .... Nothing"

1. They beat estimates for the first time in a loooooooooong time by 100%<g>
2. They are doing a much better job of managing earning expectations
3. They are getting better press lately
4. DOJ after Microsoft
5. Product development seems to be "recharged".

I just wish I had something to say about their marketing too...

Time will tell, I am determined to stick around to see Mark start the "Novl looking up" thread again<gg>. Or it could be a great story to use NOVL to teach my one month old son (time flies!) when he grows up the meaning of risk.

Happy New Year to you too. All the best
