One, it was not institutionalized in the north. That makes a difference even though you don't want to believe that. And number two, the African-American in the north didn't have to fear for their life to the extent they had to in the South. It was a soft racism, which is much better than a hard racism! There's a huge difference between institutionalized racism where the people actually make laws preventing an African-American from drinking at the same drinking fountain, going to the same bathroom or eating in the same restaurant. Although I'm not surprised that you can't tell the difference. You can't tell the difference between a lot of things. It always broke my heart to think of a African-American man with his little daughter and she's hungry and needs to go to the bathroom and she can see bathrooms around and he has to tell her that they can't use that one, or she can see restaurants and he has to tell her that they can't eat at that restaurant. And you apparently have no empathy for that at all. Racism of any kind is ugly, ugly , ugly!! And racists deserve to be given no quarter. They are to be shamed! As long as you are South of the Canadian border, you are South.” -- Malcolm X. That statement is as true as it could be. You holier-than-thou assholes need to do a little homework. It isn't about Arkansas or "the south." This entire country was historically racist as hell at one time.
