<<<<Where are the violent right-wingers who don't like socialists and unionists?

They were at the Trump campaign rallies - remember.

This sounds like you are blaming Trump for the fact that newspapers have chosen to ignore the constitutional issues I mentioned..

What constitutional issues? You do realize that universities are not part of the federal government? And, because of that, the First Amendment doesn't apply?

Don't get me wrong. I am in favor of letting those people speak. But the students that object, should be able to object.

I thought I was clear that it was the faculty behaviors that had me more exercised.

And I thought I was sufficiently attentive to that when I included those enabling toadies in my comment.

This sounds like you are blaming Trump for the fact that newspapers have chosen to ignore the constitutional issues I mentioned.

I wouldn't use the word, blame. But the situation was definitely triggered by his antics. It was terrible timing. In the absence of Trump, I think that a mitigation if not correction of the college situation would have ensued.

This is like the media who blamed Trump for even trying to stage a rally in Chicago.

Trump should have been able to stage rallies anywhere he wanted.

I haven't seen them blocking the entrance to a Ford plant or preventing Saul Allinsky from speaking somewhere.

I think you have lost sight of the change of roles here. Being in power is different from being in opposition. The positions one takes, the tone one takes, and the tactics one uses are different. Your guys may be the underdogs in the college microcosm but they just took over the macro, big time. If you don't recognize the change of position you can't shift gears in terms of tactics. It's like a football team not recognizing that they are now on defense so they leave the offensive team on the field. Winners claiming victim status, situationally warranted or not, doesn't sit well.

As for violence, sadly, in crowds there are always some jerks. On the podium, too.

"I haven't seen them ...preventing Saul Allinsky from speaking somewhere."

We must never forget the Bowling Green 9, who were massacred while on a pilgrimage to Saul Alinsky's grave.
